Microsoft Outlook provides an export feature from the file menu, but can only export an entire folder to an external source. With the use of automation you can export specific messages to a range of formats including comma-delimited files as well as Excel worksheets, Word documents and many more. The other advantage of this is that you can export only the fields you want, where as with using the export feature in Microsoft Outlook, where every field is exported.
